Headed by Mark Jacques, Internal Account Manager, we asked our entire workforce to nominate charities that we wished to support. It was decided that Cancer Research & Julia's House were closest to peoples' hearts. Mark Jacques has started the ball rolling by absailing down the 150 ft water tower at the Tower Park leisure facility in Poole, Dorset. With a terrific amount of support from fellow colleagues and friends and family, he managed to raise £416.50 for Julia's house! There is now talk of members of staff supporting both charities in the way of endurance events and other daring feats such as sky diving, hand gliding and pot holing - watch this space throughout 2011!

EMC show - Newbury Racecourse
Our first exhibition generated great interest amongst the electronics design world. Our intention was to help companies bridge the gap from EMC testing to full electronic subcontract manufacturing with ease. With the arrival of Michael Leggett who is heading up Business Development at IO Electronics, this made it possible to produce a new exhibition stand, brochures & branded accessories.

We have enjoyed incredible networking opportunities and rate this show highly. We met many businesses and entrepreneurs among both visitors and exhibitors interested in using our company whether it be redundant component sourcing, PCB prototypes to full cable assembly and PCB assembly.

Having won a major contract to supply state of the art ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) camera sub-assemblies to a key client, IO Electronics invested in a new fully automatic SMT assembly line. IO Electronics spent considerable time and effort evaluating the different products and manufacturers on the market, but decided that the Europlacer Ineo II would not just meet their technical requirements, but also give them a competitive advantage. Andrew Cridland (MD of IO Electronics) said:-
"Thanks to the support of the Europlacer team throughout the complete process we have achieved a great deal, resulting not only in the additional services we can now offer clients, but improved throughput and turnaround times, greater flexibility of component placement and improved quality. Therefore, this investment in the latest technology has been a fantastic boost to our aggressive expansion plans for 2009".
